# Running an integration export

> Configure and execute an export to a connected third-party platform.

<Tip>
  Need help in this area? See [Data Export FAQ](/platform/data-export/faq).
</Tip>

Navigate to [**Data Export > Integrations**](https://dash.nectarclimate.com/data-export/integrations), select a connected integration, then run an export. The flow varies by platform.

## Energy Star (tabbed portfolio)

Open [**Data Export > Integrations > Energy Star**](https://dash.nectarclimate.com/data-export/integrations/energy-star). The **Sync & Download** tab holds the export form and recent history. Common fields:

| Field                     | Description                                             |
| ------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Utility type** | The commodity to export (electricity, gas, water, etc.) |
| **Date range** | Start and end dates for the billing periods to include |
| **Sites** | Multi-select to scope the export to specific sites |
| **Include flagged bills** | Toggle on to include bills that have data quality flags |

Energy Star pushes directly to EPA Portfolio Manager via API.

## Single-page hubs (Metrio, Watershed, Sphera)

These integrations use a **single-page hub** — not tabs. Click **Export** on the status card to open the export dialog. Recent exports appear in the **Recent syncs & downloads** card on the same page.

Fields vary by platform (for example Metrio requires one utility type per export; Sphera supports multi-select utility types). See each integration's guide:

* [Metrio](/platform/data-export/integrations/metrio)
* [Watershed](/platform/data-export/integrations/watershed)
* [Sphera](/platform/data-export/integrations/sphera)

<Tip>
  **Metrio**, **Watershed**, **Sphera**, and **Energy Star** support direct API upload when you enable the upload toggle in the export form.
</Tip>

## Export-only integrations (Sinai, Unravel)

These integrations use a **multi-step export wizard**:

1. **Export type** — Choose the scope (e.g., Scope 1, Scope 2, Water, Waste for Sinai).
2. **Data scope** — Date range, sites, and filter options.
3. **Export options** — Export name and file format.
4. **Preview & download** — Review the data summary, then download the file.

## Export process

Once you submit the form:

1. A **progress dialog** appears showing the export status as Nectar formats and transmits the data.
2. On success, a **confirmation dialog** displays a summary and, where applicable, a download link for the exported file.
3. The export is recorded in your [Export History](/platform/data-export/export-history).

## Troubleshooting

If an export fails, check the following:

* **Credentials** — Ensure the integration's API key or login is still valid.
* **Date range** — Confirm that bills exist for the selected period and sites.
* **Platform limits** — Some platforms impose rate limits or file size restrictions. Try reducing the date range or number of sites.
