# Baltimore Gas and Electric (BGE)

> How to connect BGE accounts to Nectar. BGE uses Exelon platform authentication — no MFA configuration required.

## Connection method: Standard credentials

Baltimore Gas and Electric (BGE) is part of the Exelon family of utilities and uses their shared authentication platform. BGE does not require traditional MFA (no security questions, no email codes). You only need your username and password.

  **No MFA setup needed.** BGE uses Exelon's authentication which does not require additional
  MFA configuration.

## Setup

  <Step title="Start a new connection">
    From [Data Input > Connections](/platform/data-input/connections), click **New connection** and select **Baltimore Gas and Electric**.

  <Step title="Enter your credentials">
    Provide your BGE username and password — the same credentials you use at [bge.com](https://www.bge.com).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm the connection">
    Nectar verifies the credentials and begins collection. No additional MFA steps are required.

## Troubleshooting

| Issue                | Solution                                                                     |
| -------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| "Password Incorrect" | Verify your credentials work at [bge.com](https://www.bge.com) directly.     |
| "Website Down"       | BGE's portal occasionally has outages. The connection retries automatically. |
