# Personal settings

> Manage your profile, preferences, and organization membership.

Navigate to **Settings** > **Personal** to manage your personal settings. These changes do not affect
other users.

## General

The **General** page combines your profile, email, and password management in one place.

### Profile

| Field     | Description                                                      |
| --------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Name**  | Your display name shown in navigation and activity history       |
| **Email** | Your login email (read-only — managed by your identity provider) |

  If your name is currently set to your email address, update it to personalize your experience.

### Password

Click **Send password reset email** to receive a reset link at your registered email address. If your account uses single sign-on (SSO), password resets are not available — contact your IT administrator.

## Preferences

Use **Preferences** to control how values appear across the platform and how you receive notifications.

### Display preferences

| Preference          | Description                                                 |
| ------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Currency**        | Default currency used when values are shown in money fields |
| **Date format**     | Date display format used throughout tables and detail views |
| **Decimal display** | Toggle decimal precision in number formatting               |

### Notification preferences

Control how you receive notifications for each category. For every notification type you can independently enable or disable:

* **Email** — receive an email when the event occurs
* **In-app** — see a notification in your inbox (accessible via the bell icon in the sidebar)

Notifications are grouped into categories:

| Category                 | What triggers it                                     |
| ------------------------ | ---------------------------------------------------- |
| **Connection connected** | A utility connection is successfully configured      |
| **Connection error**     | A connection needs new credentials or attention      |
| **Exports**              | A data export completes or fails                     |
| **Product updates**      | New features and improvements                        |
| **Announcements**        | Important platform announcements and service notices |

  Some notification types (such as account confirmation requests and data gap alerts) are always delivered and cannot be disabled.

<Tip>
  You can also access your notification inbox directly from the **Notifications** page — click the bell icon in the sidebar or navigate to **Notifications** in the main menu.

## Membership

The **Membership** page gives you a read-only view of your organization and company memberships.

* **Organization** — shows which organization you belong to
* **Companies** — lists every company you have access to, along with your role (Admin or Member)

Click **Open settings** on any company row to switch to that company and jump to its settings page.

  Membership is read-only. To change your company assignments or role, ask an organization admin.

## Tips

* Use **Save changes** to apply updates.
* Use **Reset** to discard unsaved edits on the current form.
* If you change your display preferences, refresh active pages to confirm formatting updates.
