Connection method: Security questions

Orange and Rockland uses the same portal infrastructure as Con Edison (both are part of Consolidated Edison, Inc.). The connection process is identical — O&R requires security questions on every login.
Security questions can be shared across your organization. If multiple connections use the same O&R credentials, the security answers only need to be entered once.

Setup

1

Start a new connection or reconnect

From Data Input > Connections, click New connection and select Orange and Rockland, or click Reconnect on an existing connection.
2

Enter your credentials

Provide your O&R username and password — the same credentials you use at oru.com/en/login.
3

Answer security questions

Enter your security question answers exactly as set on the O&R portal. Nectar stores these securely and uses them for each automated login.
4

Confirm the connection

Nectar completes a test login to verify credentials and security answers, then begins collection.

Updating security questions

If you change your security questions or answers on the O&R portal, click Reconnect in Nectar and re-enter the updated answers.

Tips

  • MFA cannot be disabled on Orange and Rockland. Security questions are required on every login.
  • Exact matching required. Answers are case-sensitive and spacing matters.
  • Same process as Con Edison. If you’re familiar with connecting ConEd accounts, the O&R flow is identical.

Connection works for ConEd but not O&RO&R uses a separate login from ConEd even though the portal looks similar. Verify your O&R-specific credentials.
